i've seen sunny days i thought would never end. i've seen lonely times that i thought would never.

Feeling whimsical and nolstalgic today. Life is good though. I'm in a really good place.

My job is still not quite stimulating but I'm working almost every day until April 11th in which time I go back to being seasonal. I'm pretty excited about that. In the mean time, I got a call back from a really good pre-school that wants to interview. I had the phone interview on Friday. I was surprised to hear from them but really thankful. I know I can be as thankful as I want, doesn't mean I've got the job yet. In the mean time though, I'm putting on my walking shoes and looking around for jobs armed with my resumes. We'll see if someone bites and you guys will be the first to know.

I feel like there's a trend starting with my job history but people leave jobs all the time, right? I mean life is way too short to be unfulfilled. I suppose that's what your 20s are for. Finding a good fit for your life. I've got a good idea of who I am. You can thank Armenia for that. Something else I'm starting to realize while I was daydreaming about my upcoming adult life is that you don't have to know where you're going, what career you're supposed to have. You just have to love and be thankful for each day you get. I lose sight of that, I get caught up in the rush. What am I rushing to hurry up and live my life the "right" way. I mean that being said, I've still got my feet on the ground. You have to and you have to take care of yourself. Who else is going to do that for you? So, for once in my life, I am truly going with the flow. Things will happen as they're supposed to happen and I will not mope (about being jobless, single and living at home) because life's good. I thought of this while I was looking out the window after a day of rain. The sun which had been absent all day was creeping behind the clouds and the clouds were sun-kissed with pink. Like little pieces of marshmallow dipped in a pink watercolor paint. It was lovely. It's amazing how promising my future started to look..

This weekend was good in between working and such. I hung out with my sissy big time. We went to a farmer's market and got some of the most delicious, fresh, organic and local produce. We've already made some yummy meals with it. We also ate at a great local vegan eatery called Dandelion Communitea cafe. Here's the website for them . Check them out if you're in the C. Florida area.My folks went to the beach for a romantic getaway this weekend. I'm jealous but they brought me back sand and water and shells. AND a tea mug. I've been in constant search of the perfect mug to no such luck. They got me a lovely pink Daytona Beach one. It's still not "the one" but it's perfect for right now. I missed them a lot. Speaking of missing, I miss my dear friend Megs like you would not believe. She's a lil' ole' sheep herder from Montana who is a great love. She's in Armenia and I know I'll see her soon enough but I miss her much too much and we've been playing phone tag and my stupid work schedule is limiting me talking to her because of the difference of hours. As I write this now, she sleeps and the thunder outside is intoxicating. My family and I played games outside on our veranda(that sounds so snooty but can't think of a better word) with a huge fire going. This weather here is still a tad bizarre. It's so chilly for being almost April.

On another note, found out about my tattoos this weekend from Axiom tattoos. Should be about 100 or so for what I'm getting which is "la vie en rose" or life in pink. It's a beautiful sentiment and suits me. Also getting a small blue star, the same as my Pop. And a small heart in white and pink. My sister will also be getting the heart, YAY! Well that's all for now.

Hearts and love to you all. Dream big.

We're in the money, come on, my honey, Let's lend it, spend it, send it rolling along!

If only the title of this blog were true. If it were true, I'd move out closer to the beach, But first I'd go to this baking school thing in Paris then come back, move into a cute little bungalow and open a bakery. And maybe a new car. That's it. I don't have high aspirations. I just appreciate the little things.

But in all seriousness I'm watching Gold Diggers of 1933. It's about the Depression and people suffering from lack of jobs and lack of glitz & glamour.. Sound familiar? :]
But- with all that being said- I'm applying to numerous jobs and come next week, I'm walking. I'm going to go to downtown and peddle myself. I'm just going to my resume out to every office (that i research beforehand) I still am not sure what kind of work I want to get in for now. I know I want to bake ultimately but my Dad makes a good point, I need to work in a bakery (before I decide that to go to that Parisian baking school because it's not cheap.) to make sure that this is what I want to do for real. But no one will hire without experience.

On the other hand to earn $$$ at a real job, I am being pulled in a 1000 directions. I'm just not sure which one will be good for me. Maybe the problem is that I'm thinking in the terms of for a long time not just for the now.

All I know is that the current job is bringing me down and they're giving me a hard time about my schedule. I had received some perks because I've worked at this place for about 4 years. First seasonal during college and now part time, but since I've moved into being part time rather then remaining seasonal, they've taken away those perks and have started me at the beginning again. I do care about this job but maybe they don't pay me enough to care deeply. So, I probably will call my recruiter from my current job and if they don't have any other job ( keep your fingers crossed) I'm just gonna go back to being seasonal. I think that will give me the motivation I need to get off my ass and job hunt. They say it's best to go in person to places so that's what I will do.

The criteria of a job that would make me very happy is one where I feel like I am making a difference, I get to be creative and it's fast moving.
Do you guys know what kind of job that would be? If you do, I'm all ears.
I was looking at jobs in the healthcare field because it would be good money and an intensely rewarding job but I don't know if I could deal with people who don't get better or die.. My sister said occupational therapy and I think I could go for that.
So far here's a list of the jobs I think I could do.... and yet am not doing, yet

* painter
*non-profit worker
*writer
*teacher
*occupational therapist
*receptionist
*secretary
*tour guide
*explorer

So yeah, I'm just torn about everything. It's something I need to figure out. But if anyone has any ideas- holler at your girl! :]
Have a good friday loves.

And here's to you, blue wide open get me off this cursed land, back when my heart remained unbroken.

So I've been experiencing extreme wanderlust and in that process, I've also been longing for times when I was a child. I don't want to be a child though, just have the carefreeness of lovely little children. It's amazing the different dynamics a family will go through over time and in particular the difference through my 23 years of being part of my clan. They're good people, but being an adult really is rough some times. I can't have my parents take care of stuff anymore, anything I buy is paid for by me, I still have to live by their rules since I'm living in their (our) home.

But really so this wanderlust I've been experiencing is killing me. If by this time next September, I'm in the same position I am, I will be starting work on a cruise ship OR traveling circus or any type of adventurous job.

I'll have my bakery soon enough, I just want to see what life has to offer. Here's something I'm planning on doing in October. http://www.latortugafeliz.com/default.asp?action=pagina&pagina=31&taal=2&sId=7&click=118&path=_118

I'd like to do it for maybe a month but my sissy might be coming with me. So, it'll have to be for 2 weeks.

Well hope all is well. I start Spanish classes April 5th (Holy Cannoli Day- for all you Italians)

this ain't no reggae party....

So, I've been successfully trained at my job. It wasn't hard and at a couple of points, I had to help my trainer. Something I realized 2 days ago. I had fallen into a funk. It's been pretty nasty. I've been less then kind to my family. I've started to become lethargic and not eating healthy again. Basically, I was just becoming a negative person but I'm proud to say that after some thoughts about where my life was headed, I pulled back out. I feel great again. It's just hard sometimes, especially when your life isn't going the way you thought it would. I have to say that I don't plan things but there are just some things you didn't think you would be doing but that just shows why you shouldn't have any expectations.

Me, being in that funk wasn't conducive for anyone. As bitter as I was, it equally stressed out my lovely family and quite frankly was driving me crazy. But you know, as my Pop says, nothing is forever. Sometimes you just have to take things day by day and do what you can to make your future better.

So I've made peace with my situation, (crappy job, single, living at home. with no real prospects---just in case you forgot what I had been complaining about :] )

Something that I've thought of lately though which I hope you find as amusing as I do. My whole life has become something of one giant interview. You know? Each actual interview I go on, each potential significant other. They're both interviews.

For the jobs, the questions that go through my head during job hunting and interviewing
"Will this job make me happy?"
"Will I actually be doing something that's worthwhile, that I can care about deeply?"
"Is my boss going to be a douche?"
"Will it help me save up to go to baking school in Paris(because God knows I can't afford that until I pack away the $$$$$$$$?"
"Will it help me to move out in a while(( I LOVE my family but I like living alone and I don't want to be too far away from them but I want to live by the coast(particularly St. Petersburg/ Gulf coast))?"

For the person thing, the questions that go through my head when I'm hunting and/or "interviewing" on a date.

"Will we be able to maximize each other's happiness?"
"Will I have to take care of you?"
"Do you use proper grammar?" (yes, there will be written test at the end of this date)
"Will you make me uncomfortable, embarrassed or any other bad feeling on a daily basis?"
"Are you going to be a good lover?"
"Are you a decent and good person that has some passion for something?"
and last but not least
"ARE YOU A GROWNUP"'

It just makes me laugh because I constantly feel like I'm interviewing.

On another note I'm going to be taking art classes(because I have no technique) and Spanish classes soon.

Ok, my sissy and I are going to Animal Kingdom today. Love that place...

Thinking beachy thoughts today.
Be well!

I love to work at nothing all day....

I'm noticing a reoccurring theme in my life, I relate to all those disgruntled workers that you see in movies, tv shows, and songs... Case and point-Ron Livingston and Jennifer Aniston's characters in office space. The only reason I can relate to Aniston's is because she gets in trouble for not wearing enough pieces of flair. At my current job, I too, have to wear "flair". However, my flair is pins and I get to trade with guests. If you know people who are into pins, they are overzealous to say the least. That song "Taking Care of Business", just makes my day. I totally relate. Jim's role in the t.v show "the Office", Yeah, I get where he is coming from. I can't see myself getting into fights with co-workers over stupid things at my $7.45 an hour job

Had yet another day of training. I think I know how to work a cash register. One of the saving graces of this job is the people I get to talk to. They're so interesting and come from all over the world and they come from different situations. I just love talking to people, I really do.

Today though was a reletively slow day except for it's my Pop's birthday. He's been/is the best Dad. Now, I'm going to go celebrate with the family.

hearts & love to all 2 of you who read this! :]

that train is at the depot.

Real almost first day at the job. Am greeted by that lovely "seattle"weather that I was so excited about yesterday. Today though, not so much... Especially since I have to use a badge to get into my parking lot, which means I have to roll my window down. My car (Rambo is her name) is a little old and an old boyfriend broke the window(total accident). But to replace it costs like $500.00 almost all that my car is worth. (for a pic of Rambo, look at my profile pic) So that being said, I'd have to open my door to do this swiping of the badge. Decided it was easier to just take my sister's car. I get there and of course am wet. But that's okay. I clock in and meet my lovely trainer, Penny. She really is a lovely woman. One saving grace is that so far, all the people I've met that I'll be working with are fun. So, that's a definite good start!
So, continuing on with my first day, I am then told that my wish bracelet will have to come off. Not because of this particular company but because of OSHA. Apparently, we sell coffee and slushies. We don't serve them, they get it for themselves but because we prepare those things, no watches, bracelets, rings with stones, or nail polish at all. I wanted to tell OSHA what they could do with their over cautionary rules. I know it may seem silly to some people. Just take the damn bracelet off, right? NO, I've had this silly piece of string basically for 2 years. It's a wish bracelet, when it falls off, my wish comes true. I tried to explain this. They weren't having it. As if that wasn't traumatizing enough, I am told that I have the wrong shoes on. I had bought these shoes for a previous position at the same company. But at my new position, they have to be brown boot type shoes that are going to be around the 50 dollar mark. Not a big fan of buying shoes that are work only.... and ugly. ;]
But that is what I'll do.

Overall, though, I had a good day. It'll be nice to be busy doing something and even if this isn't ideal, I'm making money. Then again, I suppose life is what you make it, right? Otherwise, might as well just kill ourselves now.

Still raining,...

<3 to all!

& that train is coming... :]

So, I was thinking where I am at this point in my life. As most 23 year olds, I have more of an idea of who I am as a person. I am at one of the best points of my life. But I was wondering why I think that. So let's just look at life through my perspective for a moment.
Exhibit A.) I am living at home at 23 and out of school. I have one of the most interesting families in the world and I love them dearly but... I'm a 23 y/o graduate. However, I'm totally rocking living at home right now.
Exhibit B.) I have no "real" job. I'm working a minimum wage job. However, it's motivating me to move my ass. And it's a job! Yay, go me.... :] It really wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have to wear a costume. In my own clothes, I'd rock it.
Exhibit C.) I am single. I know, no fabulous independent woman should ever say that to people past her besties. But I'm not gonna lie, it's exhausting. And the thing is, I'm not really meeting people either. But I refuse to fall back into old habits just because I'm lonely nor date someone just for the time being. I'm not trying to be uppity, I just have never been able to do that.

So, alone I sit, at my parent's house in my P.Js about to go to work tomorrow at my lame job blogging about it.
I've become one of those peoples....
AHHH.
Ok, enough self-pitying. Life goes on, the moon will keep brightening our lives and the sun will still warm our souls.
I had a really interesting conversation with Jillian the other day under the clouds. We were talking about where we thought we'd be at this point in our lives. And it was pretty funny because none of those high in the pie dreams came true for me. I did not travel the universe. I'm not a wildly famous writer. I am not fabulously wealthy. I'm not married.. Don't have children... Don't have a grown-up job. Nor, do I have any tattoos.. Yet. (soon, p.s- my mama is thrilled) But, at the risk of being cheesy- I am happy. I could not be happier with my life.

But fear not, I'll get what I want eventually and I sure am going to enjoy my time getting there.I hope everyone who reads this enjoys it. Which is probably no one except my Nisey. My own mother doesn't read, God love her.

Have a nice evening and enjoy our gloomy "seattle" weather. I am. It's fun for a change.

And if this were my career, I'd have to throw myself in front of a train

Still waiting to hear back from that retailer that would be an interesting and good job. Today, started training at the not so hot job.... I feel bad for thinking I'm better then them but a job in merchandising is not my life goal or career choice and I'm not okay settling for this for more then the now.

Wish me luck....

In the mood for love... or a picnic!

Weather is lovely, a little too cold for March in Florida but nonetheless lovely, sunny and bright. Got a call back for a manager position at a classy and lovely store which I love to shop at Hopefully I get the job. I had the interview Wednesday and find out today if they want me to come in for the next round of interviews. Keep your fingers crossed, would be significantly better then my other job at the moment. Plus there would be a discount involved at this particular retailer. It would be a good start. Obviously not what I want to do for the rest of my life but I can't possibly open my bakery yet. Need to pack away the green.

Things are going well, watched the Searchers today. If you haven't seen this film, you're really missing out. Well hope all is well for all of you. Tomorrow going to finish my gardening. I'm planting watermelon, tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, southern peas, there are some more but I forget at the moment. And I may plant them tomorrow, depending if we're going to get more blasted cold weather.

Wish me luck on this other possible job that I could have.
Really wish I could go on a picnic today!!!
